EssentialSunday~Number 23_ Felix Da Housecat

Felix da Cat is back in this weeks Essential Mix with a smashing selection of Ravey, Disco-House. Felix is an Electro legend, producing and DJ'ing famously since early 1995, but sadly, It's been over ten years since Felix has had a chance to get on the Essential decks. If you like your poppy up-beat Electro, this set has everything needed to get your funky groove on! I also threw in a new track from the man himself.

Have You Sena Him?

Every once in a while I like to get nostalgic and let loose on a MSTRKRFT esque synth binge in listening, returning to my favorites from months past to give me that little fix of aural electricity that I once craved so frequently. As I await the arrival of fresh works from such MildWild favorites as The Japense Popstars, Auto Erotique (Formally VND/LSM), and the afore mentioned, MSTRKRFT, I've been given a little help from a man who's all about that sort of heavyness, allowing myself to indulge in something a little more up to date. Dim Mak signee and San Francisco native, Dan Sena has been on a roll recently with the release of his brand new, 'Algarve EP'. Killer noiseyness, heavy synths and unstoppable ear humpage pack some of these tracks with that classic electro sound that gets so undeniably great sometimes, also while keeping it rocker with crazy guitar works. The Dan man sent me over a copy of the EP and gave me the greenlight to share my personal favorites in full quality, hope you enjoy it.

Dan Sena - The Rising Sun
Some classic guitars and pitchy business can be heard in this beastly synth take on a lawnmower blades day to day routine; Rip, Slice, Slice, Rip.

Dan Sena - Unfinished Buisness
Some bobbing, terrorizing filth. Sleeze filled and exsuberant at the same time, a great electro jam.

Make em' Say Uhhh! Uhhhh! Ba-na-na-na!

I received a nice new amount of some fine workings by our good friend Brian Randall, more notably known as Bananana of Hollywood California, the 19 year old knob turning madman who's recently been churning out a cool sound with his familiar Electronica style and radical rythems. Aside from hammering away on the completion of his debut "Sunda EP", the fella's been putting it down properly for his hometown with some live shows that have proven to be genuine, fresh, and room destroying. Our last visit to the Los Angeles area graced us with being in attendance for a fine live show the lad put on, and he's sent us the live recording to post for the listening pleasure of all, a fine mix and quite diverse from his regular production style.

Bananana - Gauiwtar (Original Mix)
A mellow track with some great guitar sounds and some aural vibes slightly reminiscent of some Massive Attack remedies, a great easy listener

Bananana - I Tell Ya No Lies (Bananana Dub Mix)
Bananana gets down with a subtle and wobbling Dub version of 'I Tell Ya No Lies'

DJ Sét .6789

Mr Oizo - Steroids (Feat. Uffie)

Soulwax - E Talking
PUZIQe - Thomas (Original Mix)

Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat (Computer Club's 'Fat Eric' Remix)

D.I.M. - Airbus Baby (JFK Remix) (Bananana's WhatyouknowAboutThis Edit?)

Crookers - Sveglia (Oh Snap!! Booty Alarm Mix)

Mr Oizo - Pourriture 7

Alan Braxe - Addicted (Original Mix)

Deadmau5 & Jelo - The Reward Is More Cheese (Bananana's Soooo Cheeeeesy Edit)

DJ DLG - Ambition (Laidback Luke Remix)

Avenue - Set Your Body Free (Crookers Remix)

AC Slater - Jack Got Jacked (Jack Beats Remix)

Jack Got Jacked (Udachi Remix)

Mustard Pimp - Oh La La Satan (Stereoheroes Remix)

Don Rimini - Let Me Back Up (Crookers Tetsujin Remix)

Mad Decent Son!

Diplo's been around for quite some time, so it's no suprise that anything the man touches is set to turn gold at one time or another. With the highly anticipated release of his new 'Blow Your Head' EP (out on his own empire, Mad Decent), Diplo once again shows that he's no newcomer to this game. Featuring killer remixes of the eclectically buzzing, 'Wassup Wassup' (complete with the ever so sassy vocals of Rye Rye), by Bart B More, DJ Sega and Crookers. Also on the release, a killer original track including vocals by Marina Vello (Formally of Bonde Do Role), called "Must Be A Devil", that's sure to make everybody hit the floor. You can pick up the release now on Beatport, and be sure to catch Diplo and the Mad Decent crew in a city near you!

Diplo - Must Be A Devil (Feat. Marina Vello) (Original Mix)
Wonderful guitar part, and an equally wonderful bassline! Great vocals from Ex-Bonde Do Role MC, Marina Vello

Diplo - Wassup Wassup (Feat. Rye Rye) (Crookers Remix)
A classic sounding remix with some original Crookers funk!

Diplo - Percao (Original Mix)
Electrified goodness and some good ol' broken beats, a great original

CLP - Ready Or Not (Diplo VS DJ Sega Remix)
Anything CLP starts a party, so why would a Diplo and DJ Sega let you down?

Feist - I Feel It All (Diplo's Plastic Remix)
A perfect take on this angelic working by Feist

Spank Rock - The Motherfucking Rave Is Over (Diplo Remix)
The Motherfucking Rave Is Over..well..maybe not after you play this song

CSS - Let's Make Love And Listen To Death From Above (Diplo Remix)
Some wonderous CCS, accompanied by the clever mastery of Diplo

Yuksek Wants To Play Tonight

French Electro master Yuksek is back in action with his newly released 'Tonight' EP, once again not disappointing and bringing new sounds to the table as always. With four original songs on the release and a smashing Kris Menace remix of "Tonight" you'll be happy you listened. Also on the release, a cover by The Bewitched Hands On The Top Of Our Heads, a great east listener. The EP is out on Uncivilized World Entertainment and available for digital download on Beatport.

Yuksek - Deladeu 2
Crazy! Yuksek genius at work!

Yuksek - Tonight (Edit)
Great song, catchy vocals

Le Castle Vania

DJ DJ Dylan (A.K.A. Le Castle Vania) has been busy with some new productions with the end result turning out to be spectacular. Here at MildWild, we've payed close attention to what sounds this guy's been putting out and have actually been very impressed with the work he does with Lies In Disguise (Discolectro duo with Blake Miller), and the collaboration he's done with Computer Club on their re-version of Konflict's popular Drum & Bass track "The Messiah". Now in October, Dylan has (with much progging) decided to release his dancefloor made bomb, "Zero Machine", the instant smash track that samples the Smashing Pumpkins song, "Zero". With heavy guitar parts, whoooshing filters, and great vocal chops, this one's sure to make the place go crazy. Keep your eye out for this kid in the future, he looks far from through with this.

Le Castle Vania - Zero Machine (Original Mix)
Amazing song, great build-up to an even greater drop!

Le Castle Vania & Computer Club - The Messiah (Original Mix)
[File Deleted: More Info]
A nice original take on a Konflict classic, heavy synths!

Le Castle Vania & Computer Club - The Messiah (Radio Edit)
[File Deleted: More Info]
Radio friendly version, about a minute and a half shorter

Party Shank - Penis VS Vagina (Lies In Disguise Remix)
Everybody movin' to this on the dancefloor! You cannot fuck with this bass!
