Suck My Deck!

To commemorate the release of the latest addition to UK clubbing institution Bugged Out!'s pioneering Suck My Deck mix series (released today on New State Recordings), we thought we'd give you a preview of what to expect if you were to pick this up from your local record store...
In many ways the natural successor to Simian Mobile Disco and Boys Noize, who each strove to reflect and exhibit their interpretation of underground clubbing in their respective Suck My Deck compilations, it is Brodinski who opens our eyes to a fresh fascination for all things techy, bouncy, percussive and, above all, fun!
Opening with one of our favourites here at MildWild, Duke Dumont's remix of Bathroom Gurgle, it's not long before we're guided into a maelstrom of hard-hitting bass, melodic synths and techy attitude which includes tracks from current darlings of the scene Renaissance Man, the ever-funky Format:B and the imperious Popof.
Previews of yet-to-be-released bangers from the likes of studio-partner Yuksek, Kenton Slash Demon (the long-awaited Khattabi), Franz & Shape, Momma's Boy, Noob, Riva Starr, DJ Zinc and Okain are all a welcome bonus, but the Frenchman's inclusion of perhaps-forgotten favourites, such as Paul Ritch's Nordbanhoff and Roland M. Dill's jacking remix of Lucio Aquilina's Disco Bus, are testament to a man who has gone beyond making a mere hype mix, but a debut compilation which can be taken as a true representation of his own vision of dance music and DJing.
Having listened to this mix all the way through (and many times on repeat since!), you're easily reminded why this man from Reims has been making waves all over house, techno and electro scenes for the past couple of years: his mixing and attention to detail are superb, but it is his ability to not only ride the crest of a wave but actually help create it, through his dedication to discovering and pushing good new music of all kinds, which makes him - and at only 22 years of age!! - such an exciting prospect for the future.

To get you in the mood, here's a full tracklisting and just a few of the ace tunes from a mix packed full of punch...

Bugged Out! presents Suck My Deck: Mixed by Brodinski

Late Of The Pier - Bathroom Gurgle (Duke Dumont Remix)
Kenton Slash Demon - Khattabi
Okain - Jim Raynor
Gregor Salto ft. Thais - Mexer (Funkin Matt 3AM Remix)
KC Flightt - Voices (Riva Starr Remix)
Yaron Cohen - Laffy Taffy
Momma's Boy - Betowe
Broombeck - The Clapper
Format:B - Boing 030
Lucio Aquilina - Disco Bus (Roland M. Dill Remix)
Rhythm Code - Scorpion
Popof - High & Down
Tom Flynn - Blow Out
Paul Ritch - Nordbanhoff
Noob - Petite Bestiolle
Heiko Laux - Mirabella
Boy 8-Bit - Wolfen
Renaissance Man - Haarlem
Zinc - Blunt Edge
Tiga - Shoes (Djedjotronic Remix)
Franz & Shape ft. Motor - Melt (Sex Schön Remix)
Yuksek - We R Not Supermenz (Dub Version)
Iron Curtis - Solgerhood
Orlando Voorn - The Beholder (Marco Bernardi's Respect To Mix)

Gregor Salto ft. Thais - Mexer (Funkin Matt 3AM Remix)
Nice deep beats with a tribal flavour. And I don't know exactly what Thais is saying, but it sounds sexy...

It's lucky Paul Ritch can remember his scales, because he uses them to great effect here in this soaring piece of techno. A forgotten favourite?

If you haven't picked this up yet, where have you been? Rusty liquid synth madness with extra punch and intriguing vocal snippets.

Snarling all the way, the punch on this is not to be underestimated. A dancefloor devastator.

An alluring slice of deep house packed to the brim with reverberating synths and effects, whilst maintaining a strong sense of openness and even playfulness.

Anyway, enough of all this talk. NOW GO OUT AND BUY IT! ;D

The support of the artists included in this mix is another of our aims. Visit their myspaces, check out their tunes and don't forget to buy what you like from Beatport or anywhere else you can get your hands on warm, shiny 320 copies!!!

Hostage, Mark Bale, Kyle Chipman, Le Castle Vania

Greetings fellow music enthusiasts! Today we've got some bomb tunes that have traveled through the internets right into our mailbox. We'll begin this post with some great tracks sent over from Nellie Recordings.

Mark Bale - Happy Tears (Original Mix)
Mild progressive track with big sounds!

Mark Bale - Tabaka (Original Mix)
A bit on the softer side, great prog tune.

Kid Cudi - Day N Night (Bale & Voltaire Unofficial Remix)
This well known song gets a soft progressive spin on it.

The Thrillseekers - Dreaming of You (Alaa's Fashion House Remake)
Beautiful and uplifting. Alaa always pleases.

Craig Mitchell from Slanted Black sent over one of their new releases. I thought I'd share this fantastic techy remix.

Spiritmindster - The Rhythm Shocked (Finley's Supernatural Remix)
Sweeps, synths, and a heavy beat.

Next up we've got big tunes from some artists you probably frequently see on the blogosphere. Hostage continues to provide us with great material, this time remixing 'In For The Kill' by La Roux. We've also got a new collaboration including Le Castle Vania and Computer Club.

La Roux - In For The Kill (Hostage Remix)
Talk about wobble... Damn!

Designer Drugs - Back Up In This (Le Castle Vania, Computer Club & Rrrump Remix)
Vocals are a tad repetitive, but you can't argue with these heavy synths and bass.

MildWild follower Kyle Chipman has a new album out entitled 'Left Alone in the Think Tank', and although it is not from our usual posting genres, the production value is fantastic, and definitely deserves a listen and download! He also just launched his web site showcasing his music, photography, and writing. I am a web designer as well (designer of MildWild layouts), and must say that he has a very creative site which definitely took a lot of work, so make sure you check out everything his site has to offer.

More great tracks:

Mobin Master & Hess - World Go Round (Miami Husslers Remix)
Great vocal chopping, very catchy melody. Mobin Master, Hess, Miami Husslers

Franz Ferdinand - No You Girls (Zodiac Cartel Extended Mix)
Some bomb electro house from Zodiac Cartel.

[Preview] Joe Dismal - Not Sure (DJ Red & Josh Dupont Remix)
Dark tech track here. Josh Dupont, DJ Red

The Sonixx ft. Burning Latex - The Kids Just Wanna Dance
Epic electro with great vocals. The Sonixxx, Burning Latex

Chris Tall vs The Killers - I Got Soul (Original Mix)
Great bootleg. The vocals in this song have always been epic!

That's it for today... if you'd like to be featured in one of these posts, send us an e-mail.

Schaaf Shtyle

Longtime MildWild friend and Electro Einstein, Harrison Schaaf, has been tucked away on the East Coast in the studio for a little while only to (unsuprisingly) surface with more trembling, tearing, top-knotch workings. Schaaf, who recently released his debut, 'Zombie Schtyle EP', on Innerflight Music, has been crafting cutty compositions for many a day now, and is no new jack in the field of bringing crushing and clashing goodness to the ears of all. Previously remixing the likes of the, "Hungarian One Man Boyband" : Andro, the ever elusive, Fagget Fairys, and East Coast based girl duo, Blunt Force Trauma, you need not be worried about the quality of anything coming from this guy, Harrison's got it under control. With that, it is with much excitment that we exclusively bring to you two brand spankin' new Harrison Schaaf remixes, one completely reconstructing and electrifying Hip-Hop/R&B Superboy, Ne-Yo's, "Closer", and another crunchy version of British vocal majesty, Wiley's, "My Mistakes". Look out for future productions coming from the Schaaf man and be sure to pick up his tracks on Beatport.

A fully-fledged Electro bomb, signature ripping synths bless this Ne-Yo re-fix

Happy Thanksgiving

With four original songs on the release and a smashing Kris Menace remix of "Tonight" you'll be happy you listened. Also on the release, a cover by The Bewitched Hands On The Top Of Our Heads, a great east listener. The EP is out on Uncivilized World Entertainment and available for digital download on Beatport.

More Than Surkin Of It

A name much of the world has grown used to hearing over the last few years is Surkin. The boyish techno maniac representing Institubes Paris Terror Club has toured the world, remixed the likes of Justice, Paul Johnson, Justine Electra, DJ Mehdi and Foals among others, and has solidified his distinct sound in the world of Electronic Music today. Also working alongside Bobmo as a part of the High Powered Boys, they have just released their long awaited, much anticipated EP, Sounds of Cain, the first of 10 single releases. Surkin himself, has just released the remix album of his EP 'Next of Kin', entitled 'Next of Kin - Mark II', featuring re-workings by Chromeo, Laidback Luke, Blaqstarr, and fellow powered boy Bobmo. As always, I see wonderful things in Surkin's future. Enjoy some terror club love!

Nacho Lovers - Acid Life (Surkin Remix)
[File Deleted: More Info]
Amazing! Signature Surkin sound all throughout this great Nacho Lovers track!

Surkin - Kid Gloves (Bobmo Remix)
Very nice, a bit repetitive, and yet still very pleasing. Way to go Bobmo!

High Powered Boys - Up Down (Original Mix)

[File Deleted: More Info]
A wonderful High Powered Boys original!

Foals - Hummer (Surkin Remix)
Smooth stabs in this one, great vocal chopping as well.
