EssentialSunday~Number 25_ Creamfields Special with Yousef & Mark Knight

This smashing Essential Mix comes to you in the form of a live set hot from one of UK's most celebrated festivals. Creamfeild's 11th annual celebration included sets from Tiesto, David Guetta, the Swedish House Mafia, and the two artists featured in this mix; Yousef and Mark Knight. In the first hour, Yousef takes us on a journey through South American minimal, giant tech tracks, and funkalicious boogie. An amazing hour of House music to say the least. Mark's set focusses on the opposite side of the house music spectrum, but is no less entertaining. He intro's with La Roux's mesmerizing vocals in Mark's own remix of 'In For The Kill,' and flys through some excellent big room tech, up-lifting vocals, and moving bass. If your an Essential Mix fan, you need to get up on this one!

Angered Anticipation

With the release date of Mr Oizo's highly anticipated 'Lambs Anger' closing in quick, the groove cannot be stopped as Quentin Dupieux continues to keep the originality coming with fresh sounding tracks like "Jo" and "Two Takes It" (featuring the ever so sleek vocals of Carmen Castro). With other tracks on the release showcasing more of a classic Oizo sound (I.E. "Positif", "Hun" & "Z"), it's really great that you get the best of all his wonderful styles all combined into one solid sounding release. Also on the horizon, a remix release of the single, "Positif", featuring astounding remixes by LFO and fellow Ed Banger signee Mr Flash. Keep your calenders marked for November 17, you won't believe your ears!

Mr Oizo - Jo
So smooth, so groovy

Mr Oizo - Two Takes It (Feat. Carmen Castro)
A wonderful vocal track with some signature Disco flavor!

Mr Oizo - Negatif (Mr Flash Remix)
Wonderful! Trademark Ed Banger sound bleeding out of this one!

Thony Ritz Rockin' It!

Thony Ritz is an unknown name to most, while here at MildWild we've been rockin' steady to his smooth disco jams for days, and now we feel it's time you join us in getting back to some french touch. At the tender age of 10, Thony was being influenced by names such as Laurent Garnier and Carl Cox, leading to purchase of an old Yamaha PS-51, which then led him down a path that introduced him to artists like Alan Braxe, Daft Punk, and Cassius. In the years following, Thony started a radio broadcast show that aired once a week and showcased in snack bars around town. These events transcended into Thony doing his first gigs in Paris in various pubs and dancehalls, which later blossomed into his 2006 releases with White Weed Records, the 'You' and 'We'll Rock It' EPs. With 'We'll Rock It' in the top 10 Juno Downloads, Thony has continued to release quality Disco House and remains releasing tracks out on Montana Records through such digital download hubs as Beatport, Juno, and Ministry of Sound. Thony continues to build his solid reputation with My Major Company (A community quality-label which allows artists to be produced directly, having ambition to become the main portal of discovery in launching and monitoring of new musical talents in France, then in Europe) and is expected be blowing minds consistantly.

Class Is In Fckn Session : Mixtape Madness

Hope your ears are ready for 13 minutes and thirty-three seconds of Nils and Antonie from the Bastia based Fckn Crew. The lads sent over some glitchy-scratchy goodness for your listening pleasure, and naturally we're dealing with serious noise and some speaker squelching sounds if I do say so myself. The cleverly titled 'Class of Nuke'Em High Mini-Mix' showcases pure electronic mayhem and a hearty heap of Fckn Crew original songs that rip and tear their way into your ears in the very best way. With their songs being played out by artists like Les Petits Pilous, The Bloody Beetroots, and The Toxic Avenger (coming through with a thrashing remix of Fckn Crew original, "Carnage") , it would seem likely that you're soon to see these guys on the rise.

Some of you MildWild regulars may be familiar with shy boys Stefan Cipriano (Beverly Hills Tennis Club) & Duilio Pasquale (Snozbird) of Casual People, whom a short time ago were featured along with some personal and group mixtapes. It was only a matter of time before the boys cooked up some freshly crafted soundscapes for your auditory amusement, and with proper tracklistings and some crafty mixing, these arrangements are good to go.

ATFC: This is Music

If you haven't heard of ATFC over the past few years, I'd like to ask you: Where the fuck have you been hiding?
Hailing from the United Kingdom, this artist just recently finished a very successful tour of the Far East, Asia, and Australia and will be blowing minds accross Europe in the coming months. With 18 years of djing and producing under his belt, it's no surprise that one of his most recent releases, the 'Juss A Beat EP', skyrocketed up the Beatport charts. His 'Roadkill' remix is also up there among his greatest productions, it is a masterpiece in itself that still manages to pay tribute to the original. Many of his 2008 releases will be on Defected and Toolroom Records, but he has also created his own label called Onephatdeeva, which he will use to release underground tunes from new and upcoming artists. Watch out for ATFC in the coming years, there is no stopping him!

ATFC - Bad Habit (ATFC 2008 Dub Edit)
Bad Habit was a tune released in 1996 and it was long overdue for a remix that is not so disco. I'm glad ATFC chose to edit his own track because this is brilliance!

Ame - Rej (ATFC's Twin Cherries Edit)
EPIC TUNE! Definitely play worthy, almost the whole song is a build-up.

ATFC - Praise To The JBs
From the 'Juss A Beat EP', and was in the Beatport Top 10 for weeks. All I can say is that ATFC's genius radiates off of this song.

Support this artist and buy his tracks on Beatport!

Can't Stop The Rock!

Today, a big boom arrives at our doorstep courtesy of Andrew Rios from sunny southern Californi-Yee! Rios, hailing from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County is a 20 year-old DJ/Producer who performs and releases tracks under Rockland, what we'd like to call a 21st Century audio reincarnation of Rocky. Our housey friend also performs as 1/4 of Ultra Tiger, the DJ group that plays home to both he and Crux Records signee Mom & Dad. Having produced for only half a year, we suspect this fine young lad is well on his way to bigger and better things! Fresh out of the oven, he brings some real love to the table with his electrifying new original, "You Can't Stop Californi-Yee", exclusively here on MildWild featuring beautiful rubdowns by fellow "Californi-Yee" producers Divine Mother Zebrass & Nepo.

"That's What Rocky is all about : Pride, Reputation, and not being another bum in the neighborhood."
-Sylvester Stallone

Rockland - You Can't Stop Californi-Yee (Original Mix)
Smooth vocals by Sly Boogie! You can't stop it!

Rockland - You Can't Stop Californi-Yee (Divine Mother Zebrass Remix)
Some Disco House love goin' on right here, a Must Listen for sure!

Rockland - You Can't Stop Californi-Yee (Nepo Remix)
A beautiful remix, complete with wonderful piano breakdowns!

Mobin Master & Tate Strauss

I recently received these tracks in my mailbox from DJ Tate Strauss, who is promoting his combined work with Mobin Master. I was a bit surprised that the artist who created the smash hit, chart-topping track of '07 and early '08, 'Show Me Love', wanted to promote their combined work on the Blogosphere, not to mention MildWild. So without further ado, here they are.

Kid Cudi - Day N Night (Mobin Master Remix)
Decent track, sounds very similar to the Crookers remix

Coldplay - Viva La Vida (Mobin Master Remix)
Great remix here! Check out Micky Slim's version as well if you get a chance

AVH - You Don't Know Me (Mobin Master Remix)
Goodbye 'Show Me Love', hello 'You Don't Know Me'! I hate to label his sound this way but I love the Laidback Luke noises he used, as well as the Disco House breakdown

You've seen the Wild... Time for some Mild!

It goes without saying that here at MildWild we have undoubtedly posted an array of Wild Tracks. As of late some have begun to ask: "Where is the Mild?". Well my friends, today I bring to you a different flavor of post. I have picked three experienced producers from which I will share a Mild Track, followed afterward by a Wild Track. Please remember these songs are not all new, and are intended to give you, the listener, an idea of just how great these artists are at utilizing elements from all aspects of musical styles.

*This could very well become a regular segment here depending on feedback!!

1. Let's Begin with Steve Angello.

Mild: Royksopp - 49% (Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso) [222 VBR]
This song becomes randomly stuck in my head at least once a month. Mild, yet powerful

Mild: Gadjo - So Many Times (Steve Angello Remix) [192]
I couldn't decide whether to post 49% or this track, but I resolved to post this one as well because it is one of his newer releases. Possibly my favorite solo production from Angello. Beautiful guitar riffs and vocals

Wild: Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Laidback Luke - Drop It [320]
Although Mr. Angello normally likes to keep things toned down a bit, his collaboration with these other House Mafia gangsters is mind-blowing. They use gnarly synths, sirens, and lots of snare and bass.

2. Told you I'd be posting more: Deadmau5.

Mild: Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Deadmau5 Remix) [320]
  [File Deleted: More Info]
There are countless remixes of this song on Beatport and I believe that Deadmau5 does an amazing job of keeping the definitive buildup in the song going, yet rendering the tune soft.

Wild: Deadmau5 - Bye Friend (Original Mix) [320]
Dark and grungy, random noises, heavy bass. What more do you want from us?

3. Last but not least, Malente.

Mild: Malente - I Sell Marihuana (Dr.Rubberfunks Sitar Boogie Remix) [192]

Now, this is a remix of a Malente track, but seeing as it was my favorite Mild Track out of my bunch of his many, many releases, it was chosen. Great guitar and sitar riffs

Wild: Coburn - Razorblade (Malente Dub Mix) [320]
This will get the party fucking rocking! Great track!

4. 1 Bonus Track (DJ Stryke)

Mild: Skylark - Who Cares (Stryke's Respect Mix) [192]

I hunted this track down for so god damn long. Great synths and beautiful track in all aspects.

I hope you've enjoyed this brief journey into the far reaches of these artists discographies. Enjoy listening and purchase material from these chaps if you like!
